Order a Radon Test Kit

The BC Lung Association now provides both short term and long term radon test options. Each comes complete with instructions and lab results. We recommend that a short term radon test always be followed-up with a long-term radon test.

Long term radon testing

If only one test is done, it should be a three to 12 month long term test. This is because radon levels vary over time. A long term test provides the most accurate picture of actual average exposure levels and should be used to determine if mitigation is required.  ***Purchase a long term test kit.

Short term radon testing

Short term test kits are available as of March 2016. Read the news release.

An initial short term test (indoor air grab sample or a 10 - 30 day indoor air test) can be very helpful for those eager to find out if a potential radon problem exists. Possible situations include real estate transactions, building inspections, health facilities, commercial workspaces, after new home construction, and for homeowners living in regions where radon levels are known to be elevated. We recommend that a short term radon test always be followed-up with a long-term radon test. ***Purchase a short term test kit.
